Black Marble Riesling 2010
Windellama was first famous in the mid-1800's for its gold and its bushrangers. Its large deposit of dense black marble was described by geologists of the time as "the best black marble yet found in New South Wales".
The vines grown on the historic Hillcrest Estate struggle in Windellama's rocky, infertile soil, and in combination with the country cool nights, berries are slow to ripen and produce low yields with intense flavour.
Black Marble is an easy drinking, smooth Riesling with white peach and apricot flavours enhanced by light natural acids. It is excellent with light dishes, Asian cuisines or as an aperitif.
